Capstone
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the service module is to teach the children how Christian service should be implemented in their lives. The capstone serves as a review of the virtues the children learned, and a practical way to see the importance of them in their lives.
INSTRUCTIONS/IDEAS
Prepare questions about the last four lessons and the related verses. Use the attached game board to ask the questions and when they give you the correct answer, give them a chance to choose a number in the square and reveal the score they received. Write down the score and give prizes accordingly.
SERVICE PROJECT IDEAS
- Collect new socks to donate to a homeless shelter.
- Collect toiletries to give to homeless shelters or shelters
- Collect children's books and other reading materials for shelters
- Coordinate a food drive - ask each child to bring their favorite canned food or soup to help with food drive and ask children to help organize collected items to send them to a shelter
- Get a list of all eldery people in church and make placemats, ornaments, or another simple craft to give them for Christmas or their birthday.
- Collect gently used coats and other winter wear for children.
