OBJECTIVE

The objective for this grade is to learn about the sacraments and how they impact our life as Christians in this world. We are seeking to teach children how the liturgy and the sacraments should be implemented in their lives so they understand why we carry out this ritual on a regular basis.

Child Psychology: Children at this age prefer to be with children of the same gender, and are critical of those of the opposite sex.

  • The losing team has to do something silly picked by the winning team from the following (the winning team gets to pick):
    • Do 15 jumping jacks, followed by 15 push ups

Activity 3

      • Was Jesus Baptized? Why?
      • Can I enter heaven without baptism? (John 3:5 as well as the story of Cornelius- Acts 10:47)
  • The Last Supper (what was said, and who was gathered with Christ)
  • Repentance and confession (e.g. A son does not listen to mom to do his chores. He repents in his room and asks God for forgiveness. Next, he calls Abouna and tells him he would like to confess because he has been disobedient. The son meets with Abouna and confesses and is absolved and can take Communion.)
    • Prodigal Son skit
    • Why do we confess to a priest? (John 20:21-22)
  • Ephesians 5:22-25
