Capstone

OBJECTIVE

The objective of the Saints module is to teach the children about the lives of the saints. In 2nd grade, the lessons will be about Saint John the Short, Saint Justina, Saint Moses the Strong, and Saint Catherine of Alexandria. It is important to explain that we do not worship the saints; instead we ask them to intercede on our behalf and to pray for us.

INSTRUCTIONS/IDEAS

• The servant can play a game with the children after the lessons are completed as a form of review. Use the review questions from each lesson to see who remembers the lessons. Create two teams and have one person from each team come up to the front of the class. Have them stand facing each other with their hand behind their back. The servant should have their hands stretched out with their palms facing up. When the servant asks the first review question, whoever touches the servant's hand first gets to answer. If they answer correctly that team gets a point. Make sure to rotate the children so everyone can participate.
• If they do not know the answer they may ask another teammate for help.
• If both the children touch your hand at the same exact time then you may ask them to do it again with some challenges. First you can tell them to not face each other so they would need to turn, then touch your hand OR take a step back, then touch your hand.
