OBJECTIVE

The objective of the Orthodox Spirituality module is to teach the children how to clean our heart for God. In 2nd grade, we will go over repentance, confession, having peace under any circumstance, and finally being and becoming pure. The children will also learn how all these things together will help us achieve that pure heart.

INSTRUCTIONS/IDEAS

• Organize a day where the children may meet with their Father of Confession. If it is the father at your church or a different church, allow them to sit and talk with him so they get more comfortable with the idea of confession and repentance.
• Allow the children to act out what they think confession is like with a partner. The servant should teach them first before they act it out, this activity will help them so they are prepared when they go to confess to their Father of Confession.
• Continue working on memorizing Psalm 50(51) as a class, and have them practice reading the Prayer before Confession.
