History Module

INTRODUCTION

This video is meant to demonstrate the power and importance of prayer that is both applicable to the children's lives and the Church Fathers who overcame heretics and evildoers. To thoroughly understand the life of the Saints, they must understand prayer.

OBJECTIVE

This module aims to educate the students on the lives and stories of the Church Fathers to help them develop fundamental knowledge of Church history. Also, the students should be able to identify how these Fathers developed a strong relationship with God, which aided them in trials and tribulations when defending the Orthodox Faith.

MILESTONES

  • Scripture: The children should know the Church Fathers' stories and lives and their impact on scriptural rites such as the liturgy and the Creed.
  • Spiritual: The children should learn the importance of developing a strong relationship with God through prayer and faith like that demonstrated by the Church Fathers.
  • Social: The children should understand the importance of educating themselves about the Orthodox Faith to ensure that they are not easily swayed by wrong teachings and can defend their faith to their friends and peers when confronted with the situation.
  • Rituals: The children should learn why we commemorate the Church Fathers in our Church and their importance in our liturgies and scriptures. Additionally, they should be able to understand why it is we believe in certain things, and don't adopt new beliefs.
