Capstone

OBJECTIVE

The objective for this capstone is to bring all four weeks of the module together and test the children's knowledge of what they gained: recognizing the various tunes of the church used throughout the year, appreciating the various architecture styles of how the church is built, honing in the meaning of what the bread and wine resembles to the body and blood of Christ and what it does for us and seeing how we are engaged automatically right away when smelling the incense in church and what that means.

INSTRUCTIONS/IDEAS

  • Have the class make incense. For this, you will need regular incense, essential oils (preferably myrrh), and powder, if possible.
  • Have the class as a whole sit together in groups of 2-3 and identify each item in the altar such as (Censer, Paten, Chalice, candles, etc..).
  • Give one physical description of the item, one description of what it means or what is the purpose of it, and why it is important?
