Saints Module

OBJECTIVE

The objective of the 4th grade Saints module is to teach the children about models of prayer and saints who loved to pray and different aspects of prayer. First we learn about Saint Mary's prayer in praising God and how she prays to intercede on our behalf from her time on earth at the wedding of Cana, until now. We then look at saints who left the world to pray. We learn that the prayer even of a pagan young boy like Saint Pachomius can lead him to a life of holiness and piety. We learn that prayer and our deeper love for Christ and praying at all times allowed St. Pishoy to see Christ and become His beloved. We learn that God rewards his saints who love Him and sacrifice their lives and uses them to answer prayers in the lesson of Saint Philopateer Mercurius.
