Liturgy Module

OBJECTIVE

There is no greater comfort in this world than knowing that our Lord united us with Himself through the Holy Sacraments, especially Holy Communion in the Divine Liturgy. We are blessed to be called members of the Body of Christ, with Christ as the head, called to celebrate the Divine Liturgy together. In this unit, we will develop the understanding of 5th graders on the initiation, unity, and function of the Body of Christ centered on the Divine Liturgy.

MILESTONES

Scripture

By the end of this unit, the 5th graders should know that the practice of Holy Liturgy is based on the teachings of Our Lord Jesus. We also follow the example that our holy apostles gave us.

Spiritual

Partaking in Holy Communion is both the culmination and the beginning of our week and gives us sustenance in our spiritual lives.

Social

The children will realize that they are a part of the Body of Christ and together we use our talents and abilities to commune together.

Rituals

After completing this module, the students will learn that the Divine Liturgy is the central sacrament in our lives and in the Body of Christ.
