Capstone

OBJECTIVE

The objective for this grade is to look at the establishment of Kings for God's people, Israel. Over the previous 4 weeks, students took a more in depth look on how we learn about Our Lord God, through His interactions with the characters of the Bible.

In this capstone, students will review the main bible characters that they have been learning in the previous 4 weeks. After a short review, a game or a Kahoot is recommended to reinforce all the learning through a fun and competitive way.

REVIEW

First, discuss with the students the 4 main characters we learned. Try to add a little additional information so the kids won't feel it's redundant.

Samuel:

Samuel is a very interesting character in the old testament, he was a priest but you could also consider him a prophet and he participated in writing bible books. As we learned, Samuel's mom Hannah was very persistent in her prayers to God and that's what God loves. We have to put all our hearts into our prayers. Hannah kept her promise to God by offering Samuel to Him where he lived in the temple and started to serve God since he was a young boy

Saul:

The Israelites wanted an earthly king. Samuel warned them that this is not a good idea but they did not want to listen. God asked Samuel to listen to them and He chose Saul to become their King. Saul was relying more on his wealth and his image more than on God.

David:

Samuel anointed David as the king to come after Saul. Unlike Saul, David relied on God and followed His words. David showed braveness and commitment in everything he did. He wrote Psalms

Solomon:

Solomon is David's son. He became King after king David reposed. He was tasked with building the temple for the Lord. He was famous for his wisdom and he wrote Proverbs
