OBJECTIVE

The objective for this grade is to learn from and imitate the faith of our church leaders, just as St. Paul instructs us to do in Heb. 13:7.

INSTRUCTIONS/IDEAS

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you were the uber driver of a pope? To conclude our thoughts on past popes, each student is to participate in making a skit on some of the popes that we learned about. Here are some guidelines...

The students should split up into four groups (you can split them up randomly by numbering them off). Each group is to quickly review their group's respective lesson (i.e. group 1 should review lesson 1, group 2 should review lesson 2, etc.). They should each select one pope that they want to focus on. Then, each group is to practice making a skit on what it would be like if their pope took an uber with them. They should assign the following roles...

  • "Uber driver"
    • This person will act as an uber driver and should ask questions to initiate conversations with the pope. Here are some questions that the "uber driver" might ask the pope:
    • Where are you going?
    • What is your job?
    • What is one of your most meaningful life experiences?
    • What is one thing that you enjoy doing in your free time?
  • "Pope"
    • This person should act as the pope and be able to answer the uber driver's questions.
  • Script Writers
    • These people should help the pope and uber driver develop a rough script to follow. They should feel free to add creativity to the scene. For example, how would the pope act if they were to get into a fake car accident?
  • Arts and Crafts Team
    • These individuals should make a fake beard for the pope (which can be made of a paper plate) and a wheel for the uber driver (which can be made of a popsicle stick, paper, and cotton balls).

After each group is done developing their skit, they should present it to the class. The servant should arrange the chairs in the class so that it looks like a car.
