History Module

OBJECTIVE

Students should be able to give a brief overview of the many great leaders and popes of the Coptic Church. Learning about the Patriarchs of Alexandria and the different obstacles they were able to overcome encourages students to lead a life similar to our leaders. Students will gain insight and knowledge related to our church history, which will reaffirm the student's faith, as they now would understand the roots of their beliefs.

MILESTONES

Scripture:

Just as the patriarchs were able to apply the Scripture to their daily lives, we should also try to do the same. Each week, the students should focus on how they could practically apply the Word to their everyday life.

Spiritual:

Regardless of the barriers the patriarchs faced to focus on their spiritual life, they exhibited strength and resilience. Learning about popes from different eras will provide students with insight on how to practice spirituality and have God in the center of their life, even when facing adversity.

Social:

Each patriarch and leader of our church could act as an example of how we should be living our lives. Every week students should reflect on how they could interact with others the same ways as the patriarchs interacted.

Rituals:

Students should be able to understand the hierarchy of the church after the module is complete. Each person in the Church has their own responsibilities; this module should help them understand their roles and the roles of others.
