The objective for this Module is to help children realize the connections between Christian living and God's presence. To provide practical teaching on how to become closer to Christ to overcome negative emotions. For children to be challenged to participate in a spiritual discipline to promote spiritual growth, choosing the right friends, abstaining from addictive behaviors, etc

Mirror Me

Topics: Behavior, Character of God, Following Jesus

Duration: Approximately 30 minutes

"Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma." Ephesians 5:1-2

• Explain that the activity "Mirror Me" will be an activity where one student will imitate the actions of his or her partner as if he or she were looking into a mirror.
• Divide the kids into pairs and have them face each other. Have the kids decide which one of the pair will initiate the actions and which one will imitate the actions. Have the kids start out slowly to enable the imitator to match the actions of his or her partner. Have the teams gradually speed up their actions until they can no longer stay in sync. Have students switch roles and try again.

Discussion Questions:

• What was the most important thing you had to do while attempting to imitate your partner?
• Would it have helped if you knew what actions your partner would have taken ahead of time?
• Do you attempt to imitate others in real life? If so, what characteristics do they have that make them worthy of imitation?
• Ephesians 5:1-2 instructs us to be imitators of God, how can we do this?
