OBJECTIVE

The Objective of this series is to delve deeply into the many important theological and practical topics presented by St. Paul in the Pauline Epistles. The students will gain a better understanding of how St. Paul's writings greatly influenced the creation of the church and of Christianity as they exist today.

INSTRUCTIONS/IDEAS

  • The early church was all about living as a tight knit community, evangelizing together, working and living together, and helping each member out. That is the same feeling we want the student to have in participating in this activity. They would make hygiene kits or care packages for homeless individuals that can later be delivered to a shelter in the area.
  • Each student will bring 30 of each item: cardboard boxes, soap, face towels, toothpaste and brushes, baby powder, small containers of shampoo, shavers and shaving cream, hand sanitizer, etc. The class will write notes with Bible verses for each package to let them know they are loved and cared for by God to include.
  • As a group they can deliver the packages to the shelter and perhaps get a tour or work in the soup kitchen. If there are extra items, the students can hand them out to people in need near the shelter.
  • Stress the importance of working together and how each person is an important part of the group. Pray together for your safety and to accomplish God's work.
