Visible and Invisible Creation
OBJECTIVE
The theme of this module is God is Love. God is our Father and loves us so much. He shows us His love by creating the world and all nature for us, sending His Son to die on the cross for our sins, and His Resurrection to give us joy in salvation. God is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, Three in One. God created all things visible and invisible. Our Heavenly Father wishes all good things for us, whether we can see those blessings or not. Guardian angels are one of those blessings that we know are there, but we do not physically see.
INTRODUCTION & HOOK - 10 Minutes
Please review the previous week's lesson. (5 minutes)
In the Creed, we pray: "We believe in One God, God the Father, the Pantocrator. Who created the heavens and earth and all things visible and invisible."
Ask the children: What does "visible and invisible" mean? Give lots of positive feedback to keep the children engaged.
Ask the children questions like: Are angels part of the visible creation or the invisible creation? What are angels? If they are invisible, then how do we know they are there?
Can we think of stories in the Bible that let us know that we have guardian angels to protect us? Examples of angels in the Bible might include: Archangel Gabriel sharing good news with Saint Mary or Saints Zachariah and Elizabeth, Archangel Raphael protecting Tobia on his journey, the angel who guided Lot and his daughters out of Sodom and Gomorrah.
HOLY SCRIPTURE - 5 Minutes
Please read Psalm 90 to the children. Ask them to put on their best listening ears and try to hear what the psalm teaches us about angels.
Memory Verse - "For He shall command His angels concerning you; To keep you in all your ways." -Psalm 90:11
CONTENT (KEY POINTS) - 5 Minutes
Angels are messengers and servants of God. As the children of God, they serve us, too God has gifted each of us a guardian angel to watch and protect us Each of us is assigned one guardian angel from the time of our baptism until the time we go to Heaven, to be our constant companion. This does not mean that the Lord is not watching and protecting us all the time, too. He does because He loves us so much. The guardian angels that protect us are with us to help us feel safe and loved.
Guardian angels help to strengthen us against the servants of Satan who want to separate us from God. Just like the angels who serve our Lord, Satan also has servants who fight with him, trying to keep people away from listening to their guardian angels.
But Archangel Michael and all the angels are stronger than Satan. So we need to stay close to our guardian angel through prayer and the Bible With God and His Love for us, we can conquer anything With the help of our guardian angel and the blessings of God, the servants of Satan can never have any power over us.
DISCUSSION (Challenge) - 5 Minutes
Look through the icons of angels in the attachments. Ask the kindergarteners for their observations, give them lots of positive feedback to encourage discussion.
LIFE APPLICATION - 5 Minutes
Remember that your guardian angel is a gift to you from your Heavenly Father who loves you so much. Your angel keeps a close eye on you and reports to our Lord all the good things you do everyday. In those few minutes before you fall asleep, think about what your guardian angel will tell our Lord. Try your best to make sure that the next day will be an even better report
