OBJECTIVE

The theme of this module is God is Love. God is our Father and He loves us so much. He shows us His love by creating the world and all nature for us, sending His Son to die on the cross for our sins, and His Resurrection to give us joy in salvation.

God is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, Three in One. God the Father Created, God the Son Built, and the Holy Spirit Gave Life. We will delve into the attributes of our Holy God, as Holy Mighty and Holy Immortal.

God created all things visible and invisible. Our Heavenly Father wishes all good things for us, whether we can see those blessings or not. Guardian angels are one of those blessings that we know are there, but we do not see with our eyes.

Finally, we will focus on our love in return to God. Our goal is to teach the kindergarteners ways to express their love for God through faithful practices.

INSTRUCTIONS/IDEAS

Telephone

Remove all furniture from the middle of the room, to allow the kindergarteners and adults if possible to sit in a large circle.

If your class numbers more than 10-15 students, it may be better to have multiple circles, as long as there are enough adults for each group.

During this game of "telephone", the adult will whisper the first line of our Guardian Angel prayer to the student on their right. Next, that student will whisper the same line to the following student and so on, until the last student, on the left of the teacher will say what they heard whispered to them out loud.

Discuss how God will never mishear our words to Him, whether they are prayed in our hearts or out loud. God loves to hear our prayers at any time and our guardian angel is ready to help us at any time, just as God created him to do.

Play four rounds using the four lines of the Guardian Angel prayer below:

"Angel of God, my guardian dear,

To Whom God's love commits me here,

Ever this day be at my side,

To light, to guard, to rule and guide."

Play a fifth round with the verse the angels sang for Nativity:

"Glory to God in the highest, peace on Earth, and good will toward men."

If you have more time, choose students at random to have free play time with this game.

Make sure each student takes an activity sheet home, to practice the Guardian Angel Prayer at home.
