History Module

OBJECTIVE

The objective of the history module is to teach children the origin and traditions of the Coptic church. In this module, we will go over Christ and His disciples, St. Mark, St. Anianus, and St. Polycarp. The children will be able to see the development of the church that was passed down from Christ to His apostles. Through God's grace, these saints were able to maintain Christ's teachings and build the foundation of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

MILESTONES

  • Scripture: By end of this module, children be should be aware of these verses from scripture.
    • " And he said to them, Follow Me" Matthew 9:9, Mark 2:14, and Luke 5:27
    • "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creator Mark 16:15 "
    • "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation" Mark 16:15 or "But as for me and my house we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24:15
    • "I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws Psalm 119:30"
  • Spiritual: By the end of this module, children should be aware of the spiritual characteristics that St. Mark, St. Anianus, St. Polycarp, Christ, and his disciples carry such as faith, good works, peace, humility, and love.
  • Social: By the end of this module, children should understand how we are different from those in the world. These great saints put God first and preached the truth to others.
  • Rituals: By the end of this module, children should be aware of how the Coptic Orthodox church was founded and the rich history behind our faith.
