OBJECTIVE

The objective of the morality module for kindergarten grade level students is to build a foundation of morality in children stemming purely from their love to our God. It is important that children have self awareness that their identity is rooted only in Christ. In this module, it is key that we guide our children to craft a Christian conscience. The best examples of morality come directly from the miracles of our Lord Jesus Christ. The love and compassion are exemplified with his actions and his words. As we dive into the curriculum, we will identify key moral characteristics that our Lord Jesus Christ embodied.

INSTRUCTIONS/IDEAS

Idea 1 Heaven and Crowns

To intertwine the lessons from the morality module, we will create a sense of heaven in the classroom for the children. Try to give children a piece of heaven by decorating the classroom or showing icons of heaven. For example, cover a portion of the classroom with blue paper covered with clouds and add place pictures of saints and angels. Have someone dress up as Saint Mary, Jesus, and an angel. Give each child a crown and tell them they are a child of God. Tell them they are so special in God's eyes. Review that God's children do not act like everybody on earth. Explain to the children that God sits on the throne in heaven, St. Mary sits on the right hand and Jesus Christ on the left hand side. In heaven, we will find all the angels and the saints we love. It is a beautiful and amazing place. We look forward to being with Jesus in heaven. By keeping God's commandments, praying and going to church, we will go to heaven. Depending on the level of your kindergarten children, feel free to modify or add to this idea.

Idea 2 Mirrors

The I am a child of God mirror craft/activity allows children to understand they were made by God and teach children they are created in the image of God.
During this craft, review or ask questions for the 4 morality module lessons.
