HOLY SCRIPTURE - 5 Minutes

Memory Verse

"Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good." (Genesis 1:31)

CONTENT (KEY POINTS) - 15 Minutes

God created everything for a reason and everything good. After each creation that God made, the Bible tells us "and God said it was good". But when God created Adam, the Bible tells us God saw it was very good. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good." (Gen. 1:31)

You know how God created Adam? He didn't just say let there be man like the other creations He made on earth. But He made man out of His own hands. God took the dust and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. Humanity was the greatest of creation, God made Adam after He had prepared every possible means of happiness and comfort for Adam.

As Adam looked at the animals, he saw that every kind had a partner. The Bible says, "But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him." (Gen. 2:20) Adam needed someone like himself; someone he could talk to and share with all the goodness that God has blessed him with. So God created Eve.

God created the woman out of man, "And the Lord caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God has taken from him, He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man." (Gen. 2:23) The woman was created to be like him in the image and likeness of God. "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them." (Gen. 1:27).

God had prepared a wonderful paradise, called the garden of Eden, for Adam and Eve. They did not have to work and if they were ever hungry, all they had to do was pick fruits and vegetables from all the amazing plants around them. But there was one rule that God asked them to listen to, only one tree that they could not eat from. The tree in the middle of the garden, called the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve were very happy together in the garden of Eden.

But Eve made a mistake. Ask the kindergarteners, who remembers what happens next? Her first mistake was that she allowed herself to carry on a useless conversation with the serpent. Isn't that what we often do? That's why it is important how we choose our friends; bad company often leads to bad choices. Eve listened to the serpent's lies and ate from the tree that God had asked her not to eat from.

Adam also took and ate of the fruit of his own free will. Adam and Eve both made mistakes and separated themselves from God's grace. They had to leave the beautiful garden of Eden and the doors of paradise were closed to us. Adam and Eve now had to work hard to grow their own food. But God never stopped loving His creation and trying to bring them close to Him again. And the good news is that our Lord Jesus Christ opened the doors of paradise for us when He died on the cross.

LIFE APPLICATION - 5 Minutes

Adam and Eve made a mistake, just like we do everyday. It's important to remember that God wants to make up with us. Our Heavenly Father went walking in the Garden of Eden, looking for Adam and Eve to walk with Him. Let's always walk with our Heavenly Father When we make a mistake or do something wrong, we should say sorry to the person, and that you are not going to do it again and truly mean it.

DISCUSSION (Challenge) - 5 Minutes

Show the kindergarteners the two icons of Adam and Eve attached. The first one shows them in the garden of Eden. Ask and catalog what the kindergarteners see in this icon. The second icon shows our Lord Jesus Christ pulling Adam and Eve up to Heaven with Him during the Resurrection. Ask and catalog what the kindergarteners see in the second icon.
